Cataract Surgery

A cataract occurs when the lens of the eye clouds, impairing a persons vision. If a cataract is interfering with your vision, making reading difficult or making driving dangerous, you may need surgery to remove the clouded lens and replace it with an Intraocular Lens (IOL) to obtain clear vision.

Cataract Surgery is the process in which a board certified Ophthalmologist performs surgery making a tiny, precise corneal incision to break up, remove and replace a lens clouded by cataracts.

Who is a good Candidate?

Cataracts are extremely common, affecting over 50% of people over the age of 80. If the lens of your eye has been progressively clouding and impairing the way you see, you are a potential candidate for this surgery.

The only way to treat a cataract and achieve clear, focused vision once again is to get cataract surgery. Dr. Patrick Gregg preforms cataract surgery at Providence Milwaukie Hospital.
